The mission of the Gaston County Workforce Development Board is to help employers meet their workforce needs, help individuals, including youth, build careers, strengthen the local economy, and meet the challenges of global competition.
TheNCWorks NextGen Youth program is operated by the Gaston County Workforce Development Board and partnered through Gaston College. With guidance and funding from Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act, NCWorks NextGen Youth program is designed to help youth & young adults achieve their educational and employment goals. The program offers a variety of supportive services to assist in-school, out-of-school and at risk youth, which include: educational assistance, occupational training, employability skills, work experience, career exploration, on-the-job training, post-secondary education, leadership development, employment and more. The ultimate goal is to educate and prepare young adults for self-sufficiency in the world of work and life.
